人們頭蓋骨內(nèi)部的粉紅色和灰色斑點(diǎn)(blob)并不符合常規(guī)的審美觀,。為了與達(dá)納基金會(huì)(The Dana Foundation)和其他組織慶祝2012年3月12日開始的大腦意識(shí)周(Brain Awareness Week,譯者注:也可翻譯為大腦關(guān)注周),,細(xì)胞出版社(Cell Press)收集了一些論文:它們重點(diǎn)關(guān)注大腦更加藝術(shù)性和更加漂亮的方面,。
這當(dāng)中最為令人震撼的就是小鼠“腦彩虹(brainbow)”[1],即一系列表達(dá)熒光蛋白的腦細(xì)胞的顯微圖片,。2007年,,研究人員在《自然》期刊上發(fā)表一篇論文[2],利用一種基因重組(genetic recombination)方法,,僅用4種基本熒光顏色構(gòu)建出一塊由大約90種顏色組成的調(diào)色板,。而且由于基因重組是隨機(jī)發(fā)生的,所以結(jié)果就是研究人員獲得一組絢麗多彩的神經(jīng)元顏色,。
另一個(gè)更加藝術(shù)性的話題就是音樂神經(jīng)科學(xué)(neuroscience of music),。2011年10月28日發(fā)表在《細(xì)胞》期刊上的一篇研究論文“The Musicality of Franz Liszt(弗朗茲-李斯特的音樂性)”通過鋼琴家弗朗茲-李斯特的思想來(lái)追蹤單個(gè)音符[3],其中他被認(rèn)為擁有完美的音感和聯(lián)覺(synesthesia),。
取名為“雪花(Snowflake)”的鳳頭鸚鵡知道如何在舞池上對(duì)音樂進(jìn)行細(xì)分[4],。但是誰(shuí)能夠像這種沒有記憶的鸚鵡那樣思考音樂神經(jīng)科學(xué)?
