美國霍華德·休斯醫(yī)學(xué)研究所的蘇珊·林德奎斯特和南希·博尼尼與同事合作研究發(fā)現(xiàn),,大腦中一個關(guān)鍵的細(xì)胞生化途徑如果出現(xiàn)缺陷,,就會導(dǎo)致分泌多巴胺的神經(jīng)細(xì)胞死亡,。多巴胺是一種神經(jīng)遞質(zhì),,腦內(nèi)多巴胺缺乏,就會出現(xiàn)震顫、僵直,、運動遲緩等一系列帕金森病癥狀,。此外,她們還利用幾種帕金森病的動物模型,,找到了一種“拯救”瀕死神經(jīng)細(xì)胞的新方法。
林德奎斯特指出,,這一研究成果可以幫助人們尋找治療帕金森病等神經(jīng)退行性疾病的新方法,,加快新藥的開發(fā)進程。
