由于so-hepatocyte增殖和形成新組織的能力,,肝臟能非凡地自我再生,。這個過程需要肝星狀細(xì)胞來產(chǎn)生支持肝細(xì)胞增殖的基質(zhì)。生長因子p75NTR在神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)發(fā)育過程中以及受損后表達(dá),,其表達(dá)也在人與動物模型身上造成肝硬化的增加,。為了更多地了解這個生長因子在肝臟再生中的作用,Melissa Passino和同事制造了一個缺少該蛋白質(zhì)的小鼠家系,。他們報告說,,這些小鼠制造較少的肝細(xì)胞。p75NTR看來激活肝星狀細(xì)胞,,誘導(dǎo)它們分化成其它生長因子和肝細(xì)胞需要的細(xì)胞外基質(zhì),,所以p75NTR是肝臟修復(fù)過程中兩個關(guān)間細(xì)胞類型間的一個重要的連接。
