Neither Cold Nor Snow Stops Tundra Fungi

Until recently, researchers thought that cold temperatures suspended metabolism and growth of microorganisms in tundra soil communities. Now on page 1359, a team of researchers reports huge numbers and new kinds of microscopic fungi under the snow.
